Objectives
The project objective is to elaborate a study aiming to: a) review existing legislation and the eliminate those rules that discriminate against people with disabilities, particularly people with mental disabilities, b) develop a system for supported decision-making and registration of persons providing support, c) explore alternative modes of communication and ensure their equal recognition in relation to conventional forms, d) establish a system to prevent and resolve conflicts between those who provide support and the people with disabilities who receive that support, e) investigate measures/ safeguards to avoid any abuse of the right to legal transactions capability, f) the integration of best practices and legislative initiatives in other countries associated with the system of supported decision-making as well as g) to map the services involved, the institutions which will exercise control and the implementation costs of the proposed legislative amendments.
