PACE: Newsletter I

Welcome to the first issue of the PACE newsletter. This newsletter aims to share information on data protection in the context of civil enforcement and is addressed to enforcement agents, judicial officers and GDPR experts across the European Union and candidate countries.

Stay tuned to get regular updates on the project activities, including cross-border training activities for enforcement agents and trainers, data and resources on GDPR procedures in civil enforcement.

Our Project

The PACE project “Creating Privacy Awareness in Civil Enforcement” examines the intersection of civil enforcement and data protection and aims to contribute to the effective and coherent application of EU data protection law in civil enforcement procedures.

To achieve this, the project will design practical training courses and organize training seminars for trainers and for over 300 judicial officers from the 26 MS plus 4 candidate countries (Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro).

The project is a continuation of the highly successful EU Enforcement Atlas project.

We invite you to visit the PACE website to learn more about the project’s objectives and activities and to check out the updated and enriched material.

PACE is implemented by the Center for European Constitutional Law – Themistocles and Dimitris Tsatsos Foundation, in collaboration with the International Union of Judicial Officers.

Initial PACE Research findings

Over 644 professionals took part in an online survey on challenges and gaps in civil enforcement proceedings in the EU. 24 key informants from 21 EU Member States and 3 Candidate Countries (Albania, Montenegro and North Macedonia) participated in in-depth interviews. Read the findings in the report on challenges and gaps related to data protection in civil enforcement proceedings in the EU.
