FAIR – EU Charter of Fundamental rights: Awareness raising and Instruments to promote a culture of Rights

Project’s objective:

The FAIR project embarks on a two-year journey of awareness-raising and communication activities, responding to the call of the 2020 EU Commission’s “Strategy to strengthen the application of the Charter of Fundamental Rights in the EU.” This initiative aims to enhance people’s understanding of their Charter rights and guide them on where to turn when these rights are breached, particularly by empowering local actors. The FAIR Consortium, comprising nine organizations from various EU countries, all serve as national contractors for the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights’ multidisciplinary research network, FRANET. The project aims to achieve a broader impact through its final output: a comprehensive Toolbox for a fundamental rights campaign. This Toolbox will facilitate and disseminate a communication campaign on fundamental rights across the selected countries and throughout the entire EU-27.

Target groups:

Civil society organizations, rights defenders (namely, independent authorities protecting rights such as national human rights institutions (NHRIs), equality bodies, ombuds institutions, data protection authorities), justice professionals and the general public.
