Objectives
The main objective of this thematic study is to provide country specific information and data on legislation regarding child trafficking and the support/assistance of victims of child trafficking. The study focused on the anti-child trafficking legal framework, prevention actions, the appointment of legal guardians, coordination and cooperation issues, care, protection and social inclusion of victims, best interests’ determination and prosecution. In addition the study attempts to identify relevant “good practice”, namely legal provisions, measures, projects and other initiatives by public authorities, which have proven to be particularly useful, effective and/or innovative in combating child trafficking and the support/assistance of victims of child trafficking and could serve as model for future developments at EU level. National studies will constitute the main background material for comparative analysis at EU level.
